Get ready for an unforgettable night of blues-soaked rock and folk soul. Pressing Strings is helping The Timber House kick off its fall/winter season, and you won't want to miss it!
Hailing from Annapolis, Maryland, Pressing Strings is a powerhouse trio led by guitarist and vocalist Jordan Sokel, joined by drummer Justin Kruger and bassist Nick Welker. Their genre-bending sound is part blues, part rock, and part folk wrapped in soul-stirring storytelling and the warmth of Southern California in the '70s. Whether they're delivering a heartfelt ballad or an energetic anthem, Pressing Strings brings a feel-good, immersive live show for your heart and your ears.
The band has spent the last year touring coast to coast, headlining clubs and lighting up festival stages at FloydFest, Firefly, Sweetwater 420Fest, and the Annapolis Baygrass Music Festival, sharing bills with acts like Gov't Mule, Toad the Wet Sprocket, and JJ Grey.
Now they're bringing that same energy to The Timber House. It's a rare chance to catch Pressing Strings up close, in one of the best listening rooms around.

We are pleased to welcome Maya de Vitry, who is bringing her warm, magnetic live show to The Timber House, and you won't want to miss it!
Originally from the green rolling hills of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Maya de Vitry is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter and fiddler whose voice moves effortlessly between tenderness and strength. A founding member of roots-Americana trio The Stray Birds, she spent seven years touring throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe before launching her acclaimed solo career.
From canyons to kitchens, from cold lakes to highway truck stops, the songs form a vibrant collage of joy, sorrow, and gut-wrenching honesty. Whether spinning an inspirational tale about hungover bachelorettes at the Nashville airport or exploring the prison of our own adaptations, de Vitry brings a grounded confidence and quiet charisma rooted in her belief in the power of song to change us.
